Derby’s Living Room

Derby MADE would help bring people together by creating places to meet, setting the stage to discuss, share knowledge, inspire or simply hang out. Our vision for the new building will be to create a wide variety of spaces and facilities for work, play and learning. The aim of this consultation is to gather as much feedback as possible to inform the next stages of the project.

We want to create a building that belongs to Derby residents and feels like a second home. Our high streets have changed, and we need to find new purpose for our city centre. Derby Made can be the answer. It will be free to access, accessible and welcoming for all. It can be a place that speaks of Derby and showcases our fantastic, pioneering city; along with our vision for the kind of welcome we want our communities to find at its heart.

Our inspiration is other recent successful UK developments – like Storyhouse in Chester and Culture House in Sunderland – but with a unique Derby take.
